Description
Goals
The goal of this workshop is to reinforce, refine and recycle the knowledge of professionals in various blood extraction techniques in rats and mice.
The techniques to practice will be, mainly, the following:
- Retroorbital extraction in rat and mouse.
- Cardiac extraction in rat and mouse..
- Venous extractions:
- Cranial vein cava in rat.
- Lateral tail vein in rat and mouse.
- Saphenous vein in rat and mouse.
- Temporal cannulation of the tail in rats.
- Facial vein in mouse.

This workshop is aimed to professional accredited for functions C (performance of procedures), D (design of projects and procedures), E (on-site supervision of the welfare and care of animals), or F (designated veterinarian) in rodents , described in the current Spanish laws on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes (Real Decreto 53/2013 and Orden ECC / 566/2015).
Course details
No students: minimum: 6; maximum: 10.
