Description

100% practical and intensive training for initiation in ultrasound-guided puncture of central veins and insertion of tunneled catheters, avoiding blind punctures, for learning and/or perfecting the technique. With this we intend to improve the professional's confidence and safety for the patient. It will be taught in small groups, with personalized teaching by highly experienced teachers. Thus, students will perform these procedures under direct tutoring in a live animal model, and with real-time color Doppler ultrasound. This animal model is anatomically similar to the human one, which will reduce the learning curve for students and the risks for renal patients.  
This course does not have any sections.

Goals

Students will be trained in the performance of real-time color Doppler ultrasound, the study of large vessels, and the ultrasound-guided insertion (in real time) of tunneled catheters for hemodialysis.

The number of residents may not exceed 50% of the total number of registered participants. With this premise, the selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
