Course details
The learning method is theoretical-practical and consists of the tutored students carrying out the programmed exercises and surgical interventions, alternating as surgeon and assistant. All the activity will be carried out with maximum interaction between the student and the tutor, in order to resolve any doubts.
Theoretical classes, pelvic trainers and surgical stations on an animal model will be used to achieve the objectives. The students will have an individual pelvitrainer and a surgical station for every 2 students, where they will actively participate in the surgical field, as surgeons and as surgical assistants, with the help of a tutor for each station.
Each student will be assessed and tutored in a personalised manner by specialists in gynaecological endoscopic surgery. At the end of the experimental animal training period, the student will receive knowledge and training in:
- Laparoscopic surgical material and equipment.
- Dissection and endoscopic electrocoagulation techniques.
- Continuous and discontinuous, intracorporeal and extracorporeal endoscopic suturing.
- Vertical, horizontal and lateral suturing, with both hands, as dominant and secondary.
- Pneumoperitoneum with open and closed technique.
- Total hysterectomy with bilateral annexectomy.
- Bladder and ureteral dissection.
- Pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy.
- Mechanical morcellation.
- Laparoscopic management of complications: bladder, intestinal and vascular lesions.
