Instrumentation and approaches for spine surgery. VII Course on Spine of Lleida and Pyrenees
Course Features
Description
Goals
The aim of this course is to teach the four techniques that every spine surgeon must master. For this purpose, 4 work stations will be available. Each one has a human cadaver and a senior instructor, with a maximum of 5 students per station, so that the techniques can be repeated several times per student, with continuous supervision.
At the end of the course, the student will be familiar with the following techniques:
- Cervical spine intervention via the anterior approach, with the placement of implants, both inter-somatic and support plates.
- Posterior cervical spine intervention, canal liberation and placement of a metallic support system, as well as the different possibilities of performing it.
- Anterior lumbar spine surgery (particularly difficult) and implant placement.
- Intervention on posterior thoracolumbar spine, canal liberation and placement of both inter-somatic (TLIF, PLIF) and pedicular implants (2 different systems are taught).
