Description

Laparoscopic liver surgery is highly complex and have a real risk of severe intraoperative complications. However, through specific training courses led by specialists with experience in this type of technique, it is possible to learn how to perform laparoscopic hepatectomies safely. The present practical course is designed for surgeons with previous experience in the field of liver surgery and interested in improving laparoscopic hepatectomy techniques. The attendees will be able to perfect their laparoscopic skills of control and dissection of the hepatic hilum on a porcine model, to finally perform a laparoscopic lateral hepatectomy.
This course does not have any sections.

Goals

  • To review the types of approaches in minimally invasive (MI) liver surgery.
  • To review the benefits of MI liver surgery.
  • To review the technology applied for MI liver surgery.
  • Discuss clinical cases, tips, tricks and videos of MI liver surgery.
  • To practice MI liver surgery in an animal model.
