Presentation of the Seventh COSCE Agreement Report
by Creba
On December 2, members of the COSCE Commission for the Study of the Use of Animals in Scientific Research, presented the conclusions of the seventh report of the COSCE Agreement for Transparency in Animal Research, following the evaluation of the surveys conducted annually by EARA as an independent entity.
The data of this report, referring to 2023, show that both the number of institutions adhered to this Agreement, as well as the activity of each of them in the interest of transparency, continues to grow after its 7 years of life. In fact, Spain currently has the highest number of institutions and entities adhered to the Agreement compared to other similar agreements in Europa.
An important challenge now -among others- is to ensure that the transparency actions carried out by the adhered institutions and entities are included in specific and fully established communication plans within each institution, as a way to consolidate this way of working.
IRBLleida adhered to this Agreement since its creation in 2016, and maintains a continuous informative and divulgative activity.
