The Center for Experimental Research in Applied Biomedicine (CREBA) is a scientific and technical service of the Institute for Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) dedicated to supporting research, teaching and dissemination activities, and specializing mainly (but not exclusively) in the pig as a biomodel.

In 2014, the Provincial Council of Lleida and the IRBLleida decided to jointly undertake the initiative of creating a center specialized in pigs as a biomodel, thus combining the main production of the province, with the carrying out of highly technological activities for the continuous training of health professionals, the advancement of biomedical knowledge and the dissemination of scientific and health information. On September 1, 2016, the building was inaugurated, with the presence of the then Honorable President of the Generalitat (Mr. Carles Puigdemont), the President of the Provincial Council of Lleida (Mr. Joan Reñé), the Mayor of Torrelameu (Mr. Carles Comes), the Director of the IRBLleida (Dr. Elvira Fernández) and the Director of CREBA (Dr. Jorge Olsina).
