Animal facility
Animal Facility for Pig Housing. The facility includes three housing rooms with capacities for 16, 16, and 4 animals respectively (total capacity: 36 pigs up to 50 kg in weight). It features a controlled environment compliant with current regulations (Directive 2010/63/EU and Royal Decree 53/2013), and is registered as a user center for experimental animals (registration no. L9900008). Additionally, the center is authorized to use genetically modified animals.
Animal care, handling (basic and experimental), and supervision are carried out by two veterinarians and two technicians, all of whom hold the required certifications in accordance with current legislation.
3 Individual Operating Rooms
Experimental operating rooms of 43 m² each. The structure and construction were carried out in accordance with the standards of human medical operating rooms.
Facilities and fixed equipment of each operating room
Complete laparoscopic surgery equipment (Karl Storz brand), with capabilities for fluorescence-guided surgery and 3D technology
A 43″ monitor, plus one or two 24″ monitors, capable of receiving images from the laparoscopic system, an overhead camera focused on the surgery, or an ambient camera. Additionally, these screens can display resources from a computer or mobile device
Surgical LED lamps with control over color temperature, brightness, and light beam width
Audiovisual equipment that enables live viewing, recording, and broadcasting of interventions in high definition, both on a large screen inside the operating room and remotely
Mobile columns with electrical, gas, video, and audio connections, including control of the surgical lamps
Centralized supply of gases (O₂, CO₂, and medical air) and vacuum
1 Multiple Operating Room
Operating room of 88 m². The structure and construction were carried out in accordance with human medical operating room standards.
