In November 2016, IRBLleida (and consequently, CREBA) adhered to the Agreement on Transparency in Animal Experimentation, promoted by the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain (COSCE), in collaboration with the European Animal Research Association (EARA), and published on September 20 of the same year.
The signatories of the Agreement commit to the following principles:
To speak clearly about when, how, and why animals are used in research.
To provide appropriate information to the media and the general public about the conditions under which research involving animal models is conducted, as well as the results obtained from such research.
To develop initiatives that foster greater knowledge and understanding in society about the use of animals in scientific research.
To report annually on progress and share experiences.
The signatories of this document commit to adhering to these four principles and to promoting appropriate strategies within their organizations to enhance transparency regarding the use of animals in research. They also undertake to provide annual reports on the activities carried out to this end.
