Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy: Submucosal Dissection and Third Space Endoscopy – 7th ed.
Introductory course and practical training in endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and third space endoscopy for the treatment of lesions and pathologies of the digestive tract.
Course objectives
At the end of the event, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the indications and warn of possible technical difficulties of DSE in the esophagus and stomach.
- Accurately recognize dissection planes and third space anatomy.
- Have acquired proficiency in the appropriate movements of the endoscope for DSE, and how they differ from movements in other therapeutic endoscopy techniques.
- Recognize the characteristics of electrosurgical systems, their mechanism of action, and parameters to be used during the different phases of DSE, POEM, GPOEM, STER, and Zenker’s.
- Recognize the characteristics of the hydrodissection system, its mechanism of action, and the parameters to be used according to the conditions of the area to be dissected.
- Conocer las característica de los bisturí endoscópicos y cómo sacar el mejor provecho de su uso.
- Efficiently manage hemostasis maneuvers and instruments during DSE and third space endoscopy.
- Acquire basic skills in the recognition and closure of perforations using endoclips*.
- Recognize when and how to use the traction and countertraction systems available to facilitate dissection.
- Recognize your own limitations and weaknesses in order to identify which phases of dissection the participant should emphasize during their training.
* The management of perforation closure requires additional complementary courses specifically dedicated to this topic.
Attendees
Specialists in gastroenterology, with prior knowledge of digestive endoscopy and conventional endoscopic therapy (polypectomy, musectomy).
