Update on “Da Vinci” Robotic Urological Surgery
The main objective of this course is to acquire fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge for operating the Da Vinci robot in urological surgery. To this end, an intensive theoretical and practical course has been designed, including:
- Theoretical sessions.
- Guided surgical videos.
- Da Vinci simulation (console modules).
- In vivo surgery in a porcine model.
- Live robotic surgery at the Mi Nova Aliança clinic (Lleida).
- High teacher/student ratio (2:3).

Course objectives
Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to:
- Understand the ergonomics, operation, and safety protocols of the Da Vinci robotic system.
- Perform docking and positioning of the patient.
- Perform techniques such as partial and total nephrectomy, ureteral repair, and cervico-urethral anastomosis.
- Develop psychomotor skills through simulation and surgery on pig models.
- Observe and analyze robotic surgery procedures live from the operating theatre.
