Seventh Report on the COSCE Agreement presented

On December 2, members of the COSCE Commission for the Study of Animal Use in Scientific Research presented the conclusions of the seventh report of the COSCE Agreement for Transparency in Animal Experimentation, following the evaluation of the surveys conducted annually by EARA as an independent entity.
The data in this report, referring to 2023, show that both the number of institutions adhering to this Agreement and the activity of each of them in the interests of transparency continue to grow after seven years in force. In fact, Spain currently has the largest number of institutions and entities adhering to it compared to other similar agreements in Europe.
One important challenge that now arises—among others—is to ensure that the transparency measures implemented by member institutions and entities are incorporated into specific, fully established communication plans within each institution, as a way of consolidating and strengthening this approach.
IRBLleida has been a signatory to this Agreement since its creation in 2016, and continues to provide information and raise awareness on an ongoing basis.
