Training excellence in spinal surgery

On October 9, the first neurosurgery course will be held at CREBA, with the aim of introducing neurosurgeons to a minimally invasive spinal surgery technique that uses an exoscope: a three-dimensional 4K digital visualization system. This course, led by professionals from the Neurosurgery Department at Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida, is part of the excellent training in spinal surgery offered at CREBA. This line of training was initiated by the orthopedic surgeons from the Spine Unit at the aforementioned hospital and has been ongoing since 2018. Now, the initiative of the Neurosurgery team represents a new enrichment for our Center.
We say excellence because all these courses are eminently practical (in vivo surgery or surgery on human specimens), taught by specialists with extensive healthcare and teaching experience, who are highly committed to their work. Above all, we say excellence because their approach is essentially multidisciplinary, with orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons working together, in collaboration with other surgical specialties, in courses as specific as that on Management of Complications in Anterior Thoracic and Abdominal Approach to the Spine. In Vivo Workshop in a Pig Model” whose 8th edition will be held in November, and which currently forms part of the courses offered by the Spanish Spine Society.
